State corporations and government departments under the Ministry of Medical Services have signed this year's Performance Contract with the Government.
Respective Chairpersons of Boards of Directors, Parastatal chiefs and Heads of departments signed the PC with the Ministry's Permanent Secretary Ms. Mary Ngari on September 14, and later with the Treasury PS. Assistant Minister for Medical Services Hon. Kazungu witnessed the ceremony.
Ms Ngari urged the institutions' representatives to work hard to meet the targets they had signed for the sake of Kenyans. She congratulated the institutions for their good performance, saying they worked under difficult circumstances to post good results.
Hon Kazungu challenged the leaders to make decisions that benefit the public: "Let's work for Kenyans by making policies that work for their good." He reminded them that being senior officials, they must always look for solutions that benefit the public.
The meeting observed a minute's silence in honour of the victims of Sinai Fire tragedy. The PS regretted that people have to die in large numbers siphoning fuel.
Kenyatta National Hospital received praise for the efforts it showed in response to the tragedy.
KMTC Board of Management Vice Chairman Hon Joe Donde said that KMTC coordinated the donation of blood for the Sinai victims at KNH.
