Kilifi Medical Training college (formerly hospital Maintenance Training School) started operation in 1987. It was a collaboration between the government of Kenya and SIDA. It was offering Certificate in Medical Engineering. The first class had 18 students who were recruited among the workers in various hospitals in the country. Later in March 2007, the 1st class of KRCHN (Diploma) course was introduced. Presently, we have 3 classes of Medical engineering (Cert) and 3 classes of KRCHN (Diploma).
The college is located in Kilifi town, 62km north of Mombasa along the Mombasa-Malindi Highway. It is within the District'sHeadquarters and boarders the Kilifi district Hospital at KEMRI. (Kenya Medical Research Institute).
With the introduction of Diploma in Community Health Nursing Courses in March 2007, the college is now offering the following courses:
- Two years certificate in Medical Engineering
- 31/2 years Diploma in Community Health Nursing (KRCHN)

The collage has five dormitories with a bed capacity of 156.It also has a dinning hall with a sitting capacity of 120 students.
The collage is actively involved in the following sports:

- Table tennis
The collage has a well stractured student's council which provides the necesary link between administration, staff and students
