Eldoret MTC, one of the twenty eight constituent colleges of KMTC, is situated in Uasin Gishu district, Eldoret municipality along Nandi Road. It is just opposite Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. The college was established in 1977, and began with the training of Kenya Enrolled Community Health Nurse students. In 1987, Hospital Engineering Training School (HMTS) was established with the aid of Austrian/German governments and government of Kenya through the Ministry of Health. In 1990, the two schools (Nursing and Engineering) were merged to become the current Eldoret MTC.
In 1991, the college stopped the training of KECHN and began to train pre-service Diploma in KRCHN. In 2002, the department of medical Engineering stopped offering certificate course and started Diploma course for pre-service students. In 2003, the Clinical Medicine Department was started.
Corporate Social Responsibility
August 2008: Eldoret MTC staff and students held a Medical Camp at Harvest Church in Kapsoya Estate, Eldoret where displaced families were treated, and offered counselling and guidance services. The office of the Director KMTC supported this exercise through the provision of drugs that were used in treating the sick families. The college staff and students donated foodstuffs, clothing, utensils and other basic necessities as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility.
