Introduction



Minimum Entry Requirements
  • Must be a holders of Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences or their authentic equivalent.
  • 2 years of continuous service in relevant professional government health service (Public Servants)


Campus

Kenya Medical Training College Nairobi.


Duration

This is a one academic year course.

Course Delivery
The MIS course is delivered in semesters and module form.
Each academic year is divided into 2 semesters.
Theory forms 15–25% of the course
Clinical practice forms75–85 % of the course.
  • Independent field practical attachment and research is two months besides the normal practical Rotations at the National and Private hospitals within and outside Nairobi.

Higher Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences (Relevant speciality or modality)

a) Computerised Tomography (CT) / Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Title HDMIS
b) Interventional imaging techniques HDMIS
c) Angiography and Cardiology, HDMIS (Vascular Angiography)



Planned Higher Diploma Courses
  • Image Pattern Analysis.
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging/Computerised Tomography (CT).
  • Interventional Imaging Techniques.


Short Courses
These are offered to graduates of our programmes for continuous professional development:

a) Quality Assurance and image Pattern Recognition.
b) Refresher courses for Image and Therapy staff.
