Keeping records can be viewed as a means of communication, a mechanism for accountability, a means of individualizing care, and a method of ensuring continuity of care and direction of care. It also acts as a means of evaluation, to maximize interdisciplinary co-operation, to provide legal coverage, increase efficiency of care and establish a foundation for effective health care planning, to further professional education and a method of expanding the science of health records and information officers.
The aim of this course is to train competent Health Records and Information Technologists who will provide quality health care to the community.
Applicants must meet the following admission requirements:
- C in English or Kiswahili and mathematic
- C- in any one of the following: Physics, Physical Sciences, Chemistry, Biology Biological Sciences
